Khartsyzsk Pipe workers visit WWII veterans on the New Year holidays

15 January 2014

Pavel Uzbek, general director of Khartsyzsk Pipe, and the youth organization of the plant visited the World War II veteran former workers of the plant on the Christmas and New Year holidays.

There are not many veteran former workers of Khartsyzsk Pipe – just eight. Each of them received warmth, attention and care from the young pipe plant workers. The top manager of the enterprise and the youth organization gave presents and grocery baskets to the veteran pipe workers.

"Maybe, these are small things for some people. But, for us, this kind of attention is very important and valued," said veteran Nikolay Chesnokov. "There has not been a single year when veteran organizations of the pipe plant have forgotten about us – they always help us and visit us on different holidays."

The visits were organized within the framework of the "Hello, Veterans!" corporate social program of Metinvest Group.

"World War II veterans need care and attention more than anyone else. Thanks to these people, we live and enjoy every day," said Pavel Uzbek, general director of Khartsyzsk Pipe. "These visits on Christmas and the New Year are small things that each of us can do for former front-line soldiers. It is pleasant that the youth organization of the enterprise joined us."
