For the purpose of improvement of transportation conditions of hot-rolled plate and pipes in the main production shops KHARTSYZSK PIPE PLANT of Metinvest Group has modernized three electric bridge cranes by means of installation of vacuum cross-beams. Investment to the project amounted to more than UAH 2.4 mln.
The advantage of application of vacuum grippers on the electric bridge cranes is exclusion of plates damage during unloading operation at PEWSh-2 as well as exclusion of risks of bevel damage during pipes loading at PWSh-4.
Up to the present moment the hot-rolled plate delivered to PEWSh-2 has been unloaded, stored and put into production by use of cranes equipped with cross-beams with electromagnets, and finished pipe products has been stored and shipped at PWSh-4 using cranes equipped with hook cross-beams.
